YQG Talks
I love being involved in community-building events, whether I'm helping to organize them, volunteering during, or even just attending. On May 31st I had the chance to photograph a new Windsor-centric event, YQG Talks, which was held at The Olde Walkerville Theatre.
The event was organized by local Cierra Bray of CGal Media as a Windsor version of the popular Ted Talks speaking events. Bray invited ten local entrepreneurs from a variety of fields to talk about why they love living, working, and running a business in Windsor-Essex. The event aims to inspire other entrepreneurs to follow their passion and be their own boss by allowing those who have experience to share their own stories in their own words.
I'm also thrilled to be able to say that for the next event, which takes place on June 28th at The Olde Walkerville Theatre, I will be one of the speakers! This is scary and exciting all at once, as I can't wait to talk about Windsor and why I chose to stay here, but I do also have some wicked stage fright that I'll need to get over. This is a really great event, and I would suggest attending even if I weren't on the bill.
Also, be sure to check out the next issue of The Windsor Independent to read the full story on this new monthly event.
