Upcoming Show at Glass Monkey Studios
I'm very excited that next Friday, May 26th I'll have the chance to have my work on display at Glass Monkey Studios on Ottawa Street in Windsor.
The one-night-only event is to celebrate the one-year anniversary of The AVB Podcast, which was started by A.J. Vanden Berghe as a chance to have conversations with his friends and to find out what goes on behind-the-scenes of Windsor's arts and culture scene.
it was actually through this podcast that I first met A.J., when he interviewed me for an episode last November. We discussed everything from my background, to how people should be nicer to each other, to American politics (we recorded this the same morning I woke up in Michigan to the news of a Trump presidency, so it was pretty fresh). Since then A.J. and I have gone on to partner on other such projects as The Windsor Music Archive, and I'm happy to help him celebrate the success of his podcast.
The event will feature a live podcast taping (he's got a video component now, too) with special guests comic book artist Tony Gray, hypnotist Tony Lee, and Kenny vs. Spenny star Spencer "Spenny" Rice. In addition to that, Glass Monkey Studios is hosting musical guests Crissi Cochrane and Soul Brother Mike, plus Rice will be serenading the assembled crowd with his own musical creations.
My work will be displayed alongside other local artists such as Pamplemousse Designs, Athena, and Sierra Parr. I really can't believe that I'm part of such a fantastic event with such talented artists.
If you're interested in attending, tickets are $10 an can be purchased online in advance.
