Windsor's Candlelight Vigil for Quebec City
Tuesday night was dark, freezing, and windy, yet hundreds of Windsorites gathered outside of city hall for a vigil to honour the victims of last weekend's tragedy in Quebec City. While the events that prompted this gathering were tragic, it was heartwarming to see such a large crowd composed of people from so many different backgrounds. The wind interrupted a lot of the speeches given by members of the community, but what could be made out over the weather and the crowd were uplifting messages that called for Canadians to stand together and embrace our differences. It wasn't a night of finger-pointing and name-calling, it was a chance for people to support each other and to unite against hate.
