Vans Warped Tour 2016

This year was my second (or third, however you want to look at it) opportunity to shoot The Vans Warped Tour, and it was an excellent, sweaty, smelly day. Last year I travelled with Blacktop Records to the dates in Toronto and Auburn Hills, and this year I visited the Auburn Hills stop, which took place at The Palace, as a representative of CJAM 99.1 FM. It was almost 40 degrees the day of the show (Friday, August 22), but I prepared with water, sunscreen, and shorts for a long day of shooting. Nearly back to back from noon until 7 p.m. I shot ten bands of various genres across nearly all of the seven stages. Warped Tour allows photographers behind the barriers for the first three songs of e

About a month ago I came across this post on Reddit's r/Photography sub, and it got me thinking more about my Instagram hashtag usage, as well as the concept of "hubs." IG hubs are basically accounts that have a large number of followers, and use specific hashtags to find photos to feature. They're themed by region, style, or subject, and can apparently be a good way to get your work out to larger audiences. June Recap

This month wasn't as productive in the photo department as May was, but I guess that's bound to happen sometimes. I also had the chance to help out local singer/songwriter Allison Brown with a silhouette portrait that she's using to screenprint a post for some upcoming shows. While I'm not sharing any photos from that at this point, I'll be sure to post the completed poster once it's all finished. I also tried this month to run a booth at

Meghann Wright Premiers "Big Sky" Music Video

Last year I had the pleasure of meeting Brooklyn-based musician Meghann Wright through a mutual friend. I first interviewed her live over the phone for an episode of Milk and Vodka on CJAM 99.1 FM, and since then have had the chance to hangout with her at the 2015 Vans Warped Tour stops in Toronto and Detroit, interview her for the radio again, hangout on the set of her "Vacancy" music video shoot, and to take some photos of her at her most recent stop in Detroit at The Majestic Cafe. As you can maybe tell, Meghann is a busy lady and always seems to have an interesting project on the go. Most recently she made a post on Facebook about the upcoming video to her song "Big Sky," asking for subm
